“This is by far the best wild blue quail hunt in Texas – period. It all starts by meeting at the White Buffalo Bar in Marathon, TX, to share a cold drink over introductions. Then we head south toward the historic ranch and watch civilization fade away. Once we roll off the highway we make our way through the ranch and head to the hilltop perched lodge. Along the way you are sure to see the flash of wings, a tell-tale sign of a covey flush.
These hunts are full day experiences with a lot of walking and plenty of shooting opportunities for those that are willing to put in the work. These rugged landscapes and time hunting is broken up by moments of shared chef prepared meals and elegant cocktail sundowners. This place has become special to me, as I am sure it will to you. Schedule:
- Day 1: Arrival at 1:00pm to check in and review of the experience and property, 6:00pm appetizers and 7:00pm dinner
- Day 2 and Day 3: Hunting days start with 7:00am breakfast, followed by an 8:00am hunt, noon lunch, 2:00pm afternoon hunt, 6:00pm appetizers and 7:00pm dinner
- Day 4: Check out at noon
